About the model
The 488 Spider carries the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 that was named International Engine of the Year more than once. That’s 670 hp with a response so clean you barely notice the turbos. The hardtop disappears in about 14 seconds. And that distinctive side intake isn’t for show: it comes straight from racing, like much of the aerodynamics. It’s also one of the last mid-engined Ferraris before hybrids arrived.
Renting it in Mallorca
The 488 Spider was made for the Sa Calobra road: fourteen kilometres of bends where the V8 bounces off the rock walls. Head down early with the roof open, before the coaches arrive, and stop for breakfast up in the port of Sóller.
